Downtown is glowing with adventure. | Photo by Andy Spessard via Experience Columbus
Just because the weather is starting to cool off doesnât mean date night canât heat up. Fall is the perfect time to explore the city (especially with your boo by your side) + in this installment of our date night guide, weâre going downtown.
Dinner đœ
4th & State, 152 E. State St.
Donât let the word vegan scare you away. This diner is far from the typical plant-based eatery as it features classic American farelike patty melts and loaded French fries â all made without animal products. We recommend the Vrunchwrap, a vegan take on Taco Bellâs crunchwrap supreme with soy chorizo + Just Egg.
Pro tip: If you plan on driving, we recommend street parking near the stop lightbefore 4th & State.

Activity đż
Spoonful Records, 144 E. State St.
Instead of heading straight to drinks, make a quick pit stop next door for the newest location of this independently owned record store. Browse 100+ records, check out band-related merch like concert stickers, and discover new audio equipment like bluetooth speakers.
Pro tip: Spoonful offers Dollar Mondays where select bins of vinyls are just $1. Let the digging begin.
Spoonful Records also offers $5 bins every day of the week. | Photo via @spoonfulrecords
Drinks đ»
Goodwood Brewing, 401 N. Front St.
Standing as one of the newest breweries in downtown, youâll find 20 beers on tap + eight different varieties of bourbon or rye. Not sure where to start? Try the TANJESUS, a tangerine wheat beer brewed in CBUS, or the Goodwood IPA, a citrus brew that packs a boozy punch. Thereâs also the Goodwood Old Fashioned, which is made with Goodwood Rye that was distilled in a beer barrel.
Pro tip: Happy hour is from 3-6 p.m. on weekdays with discounts on draft beer, wine, house liquor, and select appetizers.

Good morning, CBUS â new voice here. My name is Ryan Johnston and I am the CEO of 6AM City, the parent company and publisher of CBUStoday. First, thank you for waking up with us every morning and looking to our City Editors, Hanna and Mitch, to help you start your day and get excited about everything CBUS has to offer.
We launched CBUStoday on Dec. 29, 2021 and we couldnât be more thrilled at how this city has taken to us. We now wake up with 20,988 readers and reach 4,575 people via social media â a big step up from day one.
We built this product based on both reader and advertiser demand. Readers like you were looking for a quick and convenient way to find everything in one place â focused on all things positive and written in a way that is digestible â and (in an effort to keep our product 100% free to readers) we work with advertisers who want to connect with readers like you.
We have a number of different opportunities to advertise directly in this newsletter â find out more by clicking on the link below.
Editorâs pick: Happy Tuesday, CBUS. When I first moved here, Nina West was taking over the city with her performances. Now sheâs taking overDisney (plus, Broadway and VH1).
