Tomorrow is Veterans Day. Many local organizations will host ceremonies, events, and deals to honor those who have served in the US Armed Forces + active military members, along with their families.
Here are some of the local Veterans Day offerings happening throughout the community:
Events
Veterans Parade | Thursday, Nov. 10 | 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. | Ohio Statehouse, 1 Capitol Square | Free | The 1st Ohio Light Artillery, Battery A will fire a Civil War cannon three times to signal the start of the march.
Veterans Memorial Dedication | Friday, Nov. 11 | 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. | Westerville Veterans Memorial, 325 N. Cleveland Ave. | Free | The dedication includes the VFW Color Guard + a 21 volley salute.
Veterans Day Ceremony | Friday, Nov. 11 | 11 a.m. | National Veterans Memorial and Museum | Free | Though this is sold out for in-person, virtual viewing options will be available + the museum will be open for tours.
Veterans Day Celebration | Friday, Nov. 11 | 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Veterans Memorial Park, 73 Johnstown Rd. | Free | The Gahanna Veterans Memorial will honor local veterans with memorial bricks in the park.

Community Development for All + Parsons Avenue Redevelopment Corp. have partnered up to expand the apartment and multi-use building planned for Parsons Avenue. Now, the complex will offer 43 affordable units which is an increase of 31 units from the original plans. 🏡 (Columbus Business First)
Community Development for All is working on another affordable housing project, this time aimed in the south side of the city at 42 W. Jenkins Ave. The group will present its plans for a 70-unit apartment complextoday at 4:30 p.m. at the Columbus Developmental Commission. (Columbus Underground)

According to the Franklin County Board of Elections results, Issues 14-18 + Issues 19-21 all were passed by voters. The passage of these brings more than a billion dollars to local agencies + will update the city’s charter to be more clear and understandable. 🗳
Upper Arlington City Council approved plans to build two shared-use paths that will connect Quarry Trails Metro Parkand Franklin County Metro Park. The first path will be built in 2023 along Lane Avenue + both are expected to be finished by the end of 2024. 🚲 (The Columbus Dispatch)
Edu
PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcastingannounced a joint venture to develop learning neighborhood programs across its local public stations, including WOSU in Columbus. This means WOSU will receive $10,000 to develop these neighborhoods that will serve as a resource for early learning.

The Hip-Hop Nutcracker, a modern spin on the classic ballet show, is headed to Columbus on Sunday, Dec. 4. The show, which features DJsand electric violins, will be held at the Palace Theatre + tickets are on sale now. 🎟
Sports
The No. 14 Ohio State women’s basketball teamdefeated No. 5 Tennessee 87-75 despite trailing at halftime by eight points. The Buckeyes were led by Massillon, Ohio-native Taylor Mikesell, who surged the comeback with 20 points in the second half and ended the night with 25 points. 🏀
Ranked

LG is the HQ for soccer
Land-Grant Brewing Co. gears up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup
Starting on Monday, Nov. 21, the brewery will be playing all games throughout the tournament with the US Men’s National Team facing Wales at 2 p.m. If weather is permitting, the games will be streamed in the beer garden on the projector screen. If not, games will still be on TVs inside. Pro tip: Save this Instagram post for a full look at the schedule.
To celebrate the soccer games, LG will be tapping + releasing cans of its new Home Cold IPA. This new brew features notes of tangerineandpineapple with a boozy punch at 6.25% ABV. Just like the FIFA games, the beer is only here for a limited time.
