Well CBUS, the cold isn’t going anywhere quite yet — so if you need an escape, we’re sharing some indoor winter activities you can enjoy.

Breakout Games, 835 Grandview Ave.

Challenge yourself with themed-escape rooms like “Wild West” and “Mystery Mansion.” Each room has a storyline and a set of clues to follow in an attempt to escape.

All escape rooms are private, so it makes for a great team bonding experience, birthday party, or date night. If you’re ready to escape, book your room online.

Pro tip: Receive 10% off when you book Monday-Thursday.

COSI, 333 W. Broad St.

There’s always plenty to learn at the Center of Science and Industry. Children can explore the dinosaur gallery, planetarium, and the little kidspace.

Currently, the “Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs” exhibit is live with life-sized recreations of the ancient animals + interactive experiences. The exhibit is included with general admission tickets.

Pro tip: COSI is fun for adults too. The next COSI After Dark (a 21+ evening with food, cocktails + entertainment) is 90s themed on Thurs., Jan. 12 from 7-10 p.m.

Skate America, 4357 Broadway

This entertainment center has food, arcade games, and indoor roller skating. Enjoy skating lessons, birthday parties, and public skating. Skate rentals are available.

Skate America also offers a Read + Roll Program — for every three books a student reads and gets stamped by their teacher or librarian, they receive free admission for one day.

Pro tip: “Family Skate Night” is every Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and admission is only $5.

We’ll use these pickup lines for something fun soon — keep your (heart) eyes peeled. 😍

Editor’s pick: As you’re reading this, I’m likely on a flight home from Los Angeles. The plan was to come out and cover the National Championship game if the Buckeyes made it, but then I decided to make the trip regardless for some warmer weather. Here’s to hoping it’s not too cold in Columbus when the plane lands. ✈️
