Spring days are on the way, Columbus. While we love every season in our city, we do enjoy a springtime getaway. Enter: Greenville, SC. Known for its vibrant art scene, award-winning downtown, scenic outdoors, and eclectic dining, adventure awaits just a quick flight away.

How Case Western Reserve can prep your high school student for college ✏️

Calling all parents of high school-age students: For ~200 years, Case Western Reserve University has prepared ambitious students for their futures. In that spirit, they offer online pre-college courses, designed for high school students ages 13+. Each course features video lessons by CWRU instructors and access to mentors. Available subjects include:
  • Astrophysics and Evolutionary Biology
  • Computer Science
  • Engineering
  • Neuroscience and Medicine
  • Social Entrepreneurship

  • The hype for the Ohio State Fair continues after two more shows were added. Fans will be able to see Keith Sweat with special guest Ginuwine on Saturday, July 29 followed by comedian Jeff Dunham on Friday, Aug. 4. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 10 at 10 a.m. 🎟
Plan Ahead
  • Red, White & BOOM! returns downtown on Monday, July 3 for its 41st year of being the largest Independence Day celebration in the Midwest. The fireworks show is free, but VIP tickets are available online. 🎇
Development
  • The former Kroger at 4485 Refugee Rd. will one day serve as an important community resource after the Mid-Ohio Collective purchased the property. The local nonprofit plans to transform the grocery store + provide food and services. Full details of the project haven’t been disclosed. (The Columbus Dispatch)
Number
  • $688 million. That’s how much money was invested for downtown projects under construction in 2022, according to Capital Crossroads & Discovery. Other notable highlights last year include 27 proposed projects combining for $1.5 billion if they were all approved.
Sports

  • The Eastland Mall will soon be demolished, but first, the owner is looking to sell everything that isn’t nailed down inside the vacant mall.
