March is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy rising temperatures. Columbus Metro Parks has fun spring events planned for the month, and it’s all free. Here’s what you can expect:
If you like slimy critters like salamanders and frogs, head to Rocky Fork Metro Park on Saturday, March 11 from 2-3 p.m. Here, you’ll go on a 1.5-mile hike searching for amphibians that come out in the early spring.
Celebrate the luck of the Irish with a 4-mile off-trail hike at Clear Creek Metro Park on Friday, March 17 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be plenty of natural greenery to set the mood.
Beginning on Monday, March 13, the Outdoor Adventure team will host a seven-week series at Scioto Grove Metro Park to learn about backpacking. You’ll learn about safety, shelter, food and water, and maps. Gear will be provided for demonstrations and an overnight trip will conclude the series.
Use a spotting scope at Pickerington Ponds Metro Park to observe nesting bald eagles on Saturday, March 25 from 2-3:30 p.m. Participants will only need to walk a half of a mile round-trip.
Pro tip: Aside from monthly events, you can always visit the Columbus Metro Parks trails and parks on your own time as well.

Avishar Barua, an OSU alum who was on “Top Chef,” will open his new Brewery District restaurant, Agni, this weekend. With reservations now available for Sunday, March 12, Avishar says the restaurant will be, “fueled by a Bengali-American celebration of char, sear, and grill.” 🍽️

Ohio State men’s basketballdefeated Wisconsin 65-57 last night in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. The Buckeyes will face Iowa today approximately 25 minutes after the 11 a.m. game finishes. Tune in on BTN. 🏀

Soulja Boy, a Grammy-nominated rapper for his hit “Crank That,” is coming to Skully’s Music Diner on Tuesday, May 23 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $65 and go on sale Friday, March 10 at 10 a.m. Limited tickets will be available. 🎶

2 Chainz, the Grammy Award-winning rapper, is coming to Esco Restaurant and Tapas on Friday, March 24. The downtown bar he co-owns at 31 E. Gay St. will be celebrating its official grand opening with cocktails and food. ⛓️
Open
Hat Trick Bar, a new bar inside Nationwide Arena, is officially open. The area has many tables and standing room space for concert-goers or Blue Jackets fans to grab a drink and mingle with friends. 🍺

There will be three brackets with 32 players in each bracket, and entry is $10. Games will be played head-to-head, and winners can receive the following:
