One of the best ways to spend a local fall day is at Lynd Fruit Farm. If you’re not sure how to make the most of the apple-picking farm, leaf it to us.

Apple picking

The apple orchard is open Wednesday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until late October. Pick your own fresh apples for $25 (up to 10 lbs) or $35 (up to 20 lbs).

Browse the Apple Use Chart to find which apples are in season and how well they keep. Pro tip: October is a great time for Fuji, Goldrush, and Evercrisp.

Lynd Farm Market

October is a great time to find homemade cider and Ohio chestnuts at the market. Specialty items also include freshly baked pies, jams, fruit butters, fruit salsas, applesauce, sauces, and dressings.

Many Ohio Proud products are also sold in the market, including Cooper Mills sauces, Harv’s Honey, Bonhomie Maple Syrup, and Whit’s frozen custard.

Corn maze

Make your way through the corn maze every Friday-Sunday until Sunday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. No need to leave the dogs at home — pups are welcome. Grab tickets.

Pro tip: The maze is located half a mile from Lynd Fruit Farm, so put 9851 Morse Rd. SW into your GPS to make your way there.

Pumpkin patch

The pumpkins and squash are located by the market, and a solid variety is expected to be available through Halloween. In order to enter the patch and pick your own, a one pumpkin purchase minimum is required.

From the editor
I went to my first NightLight 614 on Wednesday to see “Hocus Pocus,” and it was worth the hype. The views were amazing, and you can’t beat the food truck options — I went with a bowl from Hai Poké.
