Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. John Hustedawarded $192 million across Ohio for cleanup of contaminated properties. Of that, $3+ million will go towards the redemption of the Kroger Bakery on Cleveland Avenue, which will then become part of the larger, multipurpose Kroger Bakery redevelopment.
There’s a new immersive exhibit in town — Immersive Monet & The Impressionists. The exhibit opened Saturday at Lighthouse Airspace and showcases large-scale Monet paintings with vivid brush strokes and clarity. Tickets can be purchased online. 🎨
Pickle & Chill, the first-of-its-kind pickleball facility, will open its first phase with six courts in October. The second phase, which should be done in summer of 2023, will include more courts, restaurants, bars, and a lounge. 🏓 (Columbus Underground)
Rhythm on the River, the free concert series at the Scioto Mile, returns on Fri., June 24 with Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles. Cory is a Grammy-award winning R&B artist. The food trucks Thai Basil, Iron Grill, and Sweet Tooth Scooped Ice Cream will also be available. 🎶
John Lowe, CEO of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, will step down from the role after 13 years. Over the years, Jeni’s has become one of the top brands in the city + has expanded nationally. John will continue in the role until his replacement is selected. (614now)
