Staycation guide, Columbus Wine Festival + The Peach Truck

Hello Sunday.

May 22 2022

Let’s stay for vacay ☀️

If you’re looking to escape your normal routine but not venture too far from the city, we’ve got you covered with our summer staycation guide. Be sure to check back each season for new staycation recommendations for a weekend of fun in the city.

Here to stay 🛌

No need to find a dog sitter for the weekend when you book a room at DogHouse Columbus Hotel — dogs are welcome here. You can grab drinks at the taproom onsite or sit outside by the fireplaces. Room amenities include:

  • In-room draft beer
  • A record collection
  • Mini bar
  • Bluetooth speaker
  • Beer shower fridge

Packages and rates depend on when you book your stay.

Set sail to your staycation 🛶

We recommend starting the fun by spending the day on Alum Creek. The lake has areas to swim, boat, and fish + trails are available for hiking. The marina is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Friday-Sunday and a variety of rentals are available such as:

  • Group boat rentals
  • Water skis, knee-boards, and tubes
  • Jet skis
  • Pontoon boats
  • Kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards

Let’s eat 🍽️

After a day on the water or the trails, you’re bound to work up an appetite. We suggest renting out a cabana for dinner on the VASO rooftop (and you’ll feel like you’re at a tropical destination rather than right here in CBUS). Here’s what you need to know about the cabanas overlooking downtown Dublin:

  • There are couches, a mini fridge, and television inside
  • There’s a two-hour minimum for booking
  • Groups up to 10 can fit inside
  • The full food and drink menu is available

Question: Does healthy soda even exist?🥤

OLIPOP’s Best Sellers pack includes Strawberry Vanilla, Classic Root Beer + other fan-favorites. | Photo provided by OLIPOP

Answer: Yes — meet OLIPOP. OLIPOP is on a mission to craft healthier beverages that taste like traditional sodas and are actually good for you (they’re even Gwyneth Paltrow approved). The secret? Using plant fiber, prebiotics + botanicals to create a fizzy, flavorful beverage that actively supports your digestive health.

And if you’re trying to cut back on sugar, OLIPOP helps with that, too. Each can contains just 2-5 grams of sugar. Bonus: Use code 6AM20 for 20% off sitewide, plus free shipping.*
