Kid-friendly Halloween fun: Boo at the Zoo

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is hosting a kid-friendly family series on weekends in October with Halloween-themed activities.

If you want the Halloween fun without the fright, Boo at the Zoo weekends are for you. The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium series runs on weekends through Sunday, Oct. 29, and here’s what to expect.

In addition to character meet and greets + musical performances, there are a variety of seasonal activities for kids and families to enjoy.

  • Tommy C. Turtle’s Trick or Treat Trail — Stop at one of seven treat stations around Conservation Lake and Asia Quest.
  • Jessie’s Jack-O-Lantern Journey — Take a self-guided walk through an enchanted path with hundreds of hand-carved pumpkins.
  • Giant Pumpkin Carving — On Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a craftsman will carve a jumbo pumpkin for guests to watch.
  • Character Craze Hay Maze — Find your way through 400 bales of hay outside of Lakeside Pavilion.

Pro tip: Boo at the Zoo events are included with regular admission.
