When it comes to Columbus, there’s always something to do and there’s always something new. Here are eight new spots that have recently opened or are coming soon to CBUS.

Food scene 🍔

Shopping 🛍️

  • Amazon Style, the second-ever clothing store by Amazon, opened Tuesday at Easton. The tech-savvy store features an interactive fitting room where shoppers can use a touch screen to request more items to try on.
  • Common Thread, a culmination of seven clothing and decor shops on S. Third Street, opened last week. From Alex Vinash New York to Daniel Russo Home, there’s something for everyone.

Entertainment 🏓

  • Pickle & Chill, the highly anticipated space with indoor and outdoor pickleball courts + a food and beverage lounge, will open its first six indoor courts next month at 800 W. Henderson Rd.
  • X-Golf Columbus, a 7,000-sqft indoor golf simulator lounge, is expected to open in the coming months in the Grandview Yard with a full-service kitchen and bar, leagues, tournaments, golf lessons, and space for private parties.

Development
  • Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and mixed-use developers Crawford Hoying are partnering to open a new boutique hotel in Bridge Park. The luxury hotel will include an upscale restaurant + an event and conference center. This will be Cameron Mitchell’s first endeavor in the hotel industry.
  • As the Mount Carmel West medical campus is moved to Grove City, Franklinton is soon to see more green space in its former location. The city approved plans for it to be converted into residential, commercial, and office spaces, as well as the addition of a 1.7-acre park. Plans for a trail, planted trees, and new curb ramps are also in the works. 🌳 (The Columbus Dispatch)

  • The Pizza Connoisseurs of Columbus Facebook group recently put out their annual poll for the best pizza in town. After over 4,000 pizza lovers’ votes were counted, Terita’s Pizza took the top place this year. Terita’s is on the North End of Columbus + is known for its classic, crispy thin-crust pizza.   • Seasonal beers are back at Land-Grant Brewing Co. Try the Beard Crumbs Oatmeal Raisin Stout made with notes of chocolate, coffee, and caramelized raisins or the Needledrop Hazy Pale Ale, a hoppy citrus pale ale. Grab them now in cans on on draft in the taproom. 🍺

  • Dr. Bob Liggett won the Circleville Pumpkin Show’s Giant Pumpkin Weigh-In with a 1,837.5-lb pumpkin. This is Bob’s 15th victory at the Pumpkin Show + he also holds the festival record for the largest pumpkin ever to be weighed-in at 1,964 lbs. 🎃 (The Columbus Dispatch)

  • The Blue Jackets recorded their first win of the season on Tuesday with a 4-3 victory over Vancouver. Vladislav Gavrikov’s overtime goalthe first OT goal of his career — sealed the deal in Nationwide Arena, with other goals from Johnny Gaudreau, Zach Werenski, and Justin Danforth. 🏒 (The Columbus Dispatch)
  • Did you know that OSU football hasn’t lost a Big Ten game at The Shoe since 2015? Since 2015, the Buckeyes have won 27 consecutive conference games at home, which is a Big Ten record. 🏈
