OhioHealth and Columbus State Community College are investing $120 million into healthcare infrastructure in hopes of doubling the amount of medical school graduates. Of this money, nearly $85 million will be used to build a new 80,000-sqft building on CSCC’s campus + another $25 million will be used to sustain current operations. (The Columbus Dispatch)

Columbus City Council selected the Columbus-based firm MKSK was to design and upgrade the Eastland area. The local firm plans to get started on designs in July + anticipates it to take 16-18 months to finish. (10TV)

The Grant Medical Center expansion could grow larger after OhioHealth officials applied for more space along Sixth Street. If approved, this would permanently close a portion of Sixth Street near the hospital, which will one day become a medical office with a pavilion. (Columbus Business First)

Broadband in the Buckeye State is getting a boost after federal funds were approved last week. According to the program, Ohio is set to receive nearly $800 million for broadband expansions, which will go towards bringing high speed internet to thousands of Ohioans who lack it. (ABC6 On Your Side)

Columbus Crew sends two athletes to 2023 MLS All-Star Game

When it comes to the top 26 athletes in the MLS right now, Columbus is home to two of them.
Columbus Crew midfielders Aidan Morris and Lucas Zelarayán were named as 2023 MLS All-Stars. The two Columbus athletes join a star-studded roster that takes on the international Aresonal FC on Wednesday, July 19 in Washington DC.
How did they get here? Beyond earning votes from media, players, and fans, these two have been on a hot streak. Morris holds one of the best pass completion rates in the MLS at 92%. And, Zelarayán is one of only five MLS players to record at least eight goals and seven assists so far this season.
