Columbus ranks No. 11 among hottest housing markets

The Arch City is on fire. No need to dial 9-1-1 — we mean the housing market. Columbus recently ranked No. 11 on U.S. News & World Report’s list of hottest housing markets in the US. Also on the list were Denver (No. 2), Phoenix (No. 4), Charlotte (No. 6), and Las Vegas (No. 12).
“What defines hot,” you ask? U.S. News & World Report describes a hot market as one “returning to the basics of healthy demand, supply and financing options.”
To determine which cities are hot (and which are not), U.S. News based its rankings on a scoring scale of 1-100 that examined metrics of housing supply, demand, and finance indicators.

We all know that Columbus is a special place with a never-ending supply of things to do, see, and experience. That got us thinking — we already spend our days helping you get the most out of our city. So what if we curated a collection of guides that will be updated and available anytime to help you navigate all our great city has to offer?
That’s just what we’ve done. Say hello to CBUStoday’s City Guide, your ultimate digital destination for the best ways to get out there and learn about the city you love.
We’ve broken the guides into three categories:
LIVE — Schools, neighborhoods, and unwritten rules of the city
WORK — Top industries, startups, and great spots to work outside
That just scratches the surface. We’ve got guides to local Airbnb and Vrbo rentals, navigating the airport, volunteer opportunities around town, and even where you and your pooch can grab a drink together.
Ready to get to know your city even better? Check out the link below. And if there’s a guide you’d love to see, send us a suggestion because this list of guides will just keep growing.
Oh, and one more thing. For all you marketing folks out there, we have one exclusive sponsorship available. We will feature your brand next to everywhere the guides appear in the newsletter, website, and social media. It’s an opportunity that won’t last long, so drop us a line.
The Merchant Building, a new 700,000-sqft tower from the North Market, received an additional $31 million in support from Columbus. Franklin County Commissioners also approved $39 million in support of the tower. Commissioners will meet in the coming weeks to discuss injecting another $17+ million into the project. Transit
The Wilson Bridge Road project will require two more months of work after construction officials discovered more needed repairs. This stretch of highway on SR-315 will continue to have lane restrictions, and the goal is to complete the fixes by September. (The Columbus Dispatch)
State
Ohio will build 27 new electric vehicle charging stations along interstates, including I-70 and I-71 in Columbus. Once complete, each highway will feature an electric charging station every 50 miles. The project will cost roughly $18 million, which will be paid using federal dollars. (Cleveland.com)
