• Gene Smith, OSU’s athletic director, announced his retirement for July 2024. During his 18 years leading the athletic programs, the Buckeyes have won 32 team national championships and 115 Big Ten team titles. Teams also produced the highest academic performance rate in school history.

• Taco lovers can rejoice with this news. Columbus Taco Fest Fall Edition is coming to Goodale Park Saturday, Oct. 7-Sunday, Oct. 8. Expect live music and lots of tacos from local vendors. Advance tickets are on sale now for $5.

• OpenTable’s Diners’ Choice Best of Columbus list featured nine Columbus restaurants, including Lindey’s and South Village Grille. The list was created based on reviews from diners who said these spots have top-notch service.

• North Market Wine Fest at Bridge Park will be Friday, Aug. 18-Saturday, Aug. 19. Sample wines from distributors and wineries across the country, plus enjoy live performances. General admission tickets are $50 and include a souvenir glass, five wine samples, and a $10 food voucher to the North Market.

• The Topiary Park Crossing apartments will open in October with 98 units. The downtown complex will feature a fitness center, terrace with grill space, and a library. Rent will range from $900-$2,000 per month. (Columbus Business First)

• B-The Underwater Bubble Show is coming to Davidson Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 11. The family-friendly show features puppetry, juggling, contortionism, sand art, and lots of bubbles. Tickets are on sale now for two show times — 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

• Here’s another schedule update for OSU hoops. The men’s basketball team will face UCLA in the CBS Sports Classic on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. The tournament will take place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA.
