Health is wealth, and that expression has two meanings for OhioHealth.
With multi-million dollar builds, projects, and advancements, 2023 has been busy for the local healthcare provider. Most recently, Columbus Business First reported OhioHealth’s plans for its newly acquired land in Dublin, so that inspired us to take a look back. Consider this a yearly check up.
Plans
OhioHealth planned an 11,000-sqft expansion to its Dublin rehab hospital located at 3805 Emerald Pkwy. The project would be supported by a partnership with Select Medical, a Pennsylvania-based company, that also occurred earlier this year. Dublin Commissioners will meet again on Thursday, Sept. 7.
A $10 million expansion will bring enhanced neuroscience services to Lane Avenue. OhioHealth purchased a building and nearby land located at 1480 W. Lane Ave. in Upper Arlington.

Builds
Grant Medical Center is getting a $400 million expansion that adds a new trauma center, an ambulatory facility, and general campus upgrades. These upgrades are expected to be finished by mid-2028.
A comprehensive women’s health center will be built on the Riverside Methodist Hospital campus. The 590,000-sqft standalone building will cost $600+ million, according to local reports.
Construction will soon begin on a 40,000-sqft outpatient center in Canal Winchester near the Waterloo Crossing Shopping Center. The center is slated to open in early 2025.

Announcements
The future of medical supplies could include delivery drones after OhioHealth partnered with Zipline, one of the largest autonomous delivery services in the world. These drones will fly across buildings on medical campuses with sky high goals of expanding throughout the entire city.
OhioHealth invested $120 million into Columbus State Community College through a partnership to bolster medical school graduation rates. A large portion of the investment — $85 million — will go towards a new 80,000-sqft academic building named after OhioHealth.

Can we get ranch with that? If you haven’t said that phrase when ordering French fries, pizza, or fried pickles — are you even from Ohio?
We don’t want to know the answer to that question. All we know is these local restaurants are some of our favorites for dunking basically everything into their ranch.
Nothing beats the housemade ranch — it completes any pie.
There’s only so much ranch two City Editors can get to — we need your help. Send us your favorite local restaurants for that highly coveted housemade ranch.
