“The Breakfast Club” | Released: 1985 | Comedy + coming-of-age | This is a small Easter egg, but shout out to this Redditor for noticing the “OHIOST” license plate near the end of the film.
“Zombieland” | Released: 2009 | Action, comedy + horror | Jesse Eisenberg portrays a character attempting to get to Columbus alongside a star-studded cast.
“Ready Player One” | Released: 2018 | Action, adventure + sci-fi | Witness a cyberpunk-themed version of the city in this film about virtual reality.
Television
“Family Ties” | Released: 1982 | Sitcom | Michael J. Fox is “Alex Keaton” for seven seasons in this show set in suburban CBUS.
“Unsolved Mysteries” | Released: 2008 | True crime | Dive into the details of Michael Swango, a criminal and former intern at a local hospital.
“The Simpsons” | Released: 2017 | Cartoons + comedy | Principal Skinner visits The Ohio State University in Season 29, Episode 5.
“Kidding” | Released: 2018 | Drama + tragic comedy | Jim Carrey starred in this heart-wrenching show based in Columbus.
“Monsters Inside: The 24 Faces of Billy Milligan” | Released: 2021 | True crime | Listen to a twisted tale of this criminal that terrorized OSU’s campus in the 1970s (trigger warning: SA).

Sports
The Columbus Crew are still in the hunt. The local soccer club defeated Atlanta United 4-2 to advance to the MLS Eastern Conference semifinals. The Crew now faces Orlando City SC on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 5:30 p.m. in Orlando.
Concert
AJR, an indie pop band with 9.8+ million Spotify listeners, is coming to Nationwide Arena on June 28, 2024. Tickets are available today at 10 a.m.
Sports
The Ohio State Buckeyes defeated Michigan State over the weekend, continuing the undefeated streak to 10-0. They face Minnesota on Saturday, Nov. 18 in the final home game of the season. Get tickets.

When the weather is heating up, or you’re just looking for an alternative to your morning cup of coffee — cold brew is here for you. Not only does this drink pack a caffeinated punch, there are plenty of local coffee shops happy to fill up your cup. Here are two we can’t stop going back to.
Mission Coffee moved into this location in March 2023. Now, it’s running at full speed, offering pairings like a cold brew with a Pattycake Bakery vanilla cupcake.
One Line can be found in the Short North, downtown, or Franklinton + offers the Toddy Cold Brew. It’s brewed in house with medium-roast beans from Colombia for a rich and smooth taste.
