Projects
Take a tour of the Wexner Center Inpatient Hospital
This project is now 75% complete, said Ragan Fallang, project manager of the build. Get a digital sneak peek of the interior after it hosted tours in mid-February.
Intel announces delays for construction
The tech giant originally aimed for a 2025 opening date, but changed to late 2026. Intel said that while the delay is due to the massive size, they are still very committed to finishing the project.
PNC Tower finds new life
The Preston Centre is now open in the PNC Tower, transforming vacant office space into 105 apartment units. It resides on the 23rd + 24th floor.

Downtown parking lot could become apartment tower
The Dispatch Tower is a 12-story build that would feature 220+ apartment units if approved. The project was pitched to replace a parking lot at 33 N. 4th St.

New retail center for Powell
A 43,000-sqft development is planned for Powell that will be beside the Target at 10560 Sawmill Rd. A groundbreaking is expected soon.
Rooftop bar planned for Powell
COhatch will open a new co-working office in Powell that will feature a rooftop bar. This will be the first-ever rooftop bar for the city.
Kroger ramps up remodel efforts
A total of 11 central Ohio Kroger stores will receive face lifts after the grocery chain invested $68 million into construction in the state. Impacted locations in CBUS include Worthington + Westerville.

Bubbles Tea and Juice Company, a Columbus-based cafe, will open a new location at 121 Mill St. in Gahanna. A grand opening is expected in April with a full menu of smoothies, coffee, and its highly popular bubble tea. (NBC4)

A four-story building at 3400 N. High St. in Clintonville will be remodeled and reimagined with new space for a restaurant. The owners are currently in the process of applying for a liquor license, but not firm decisions have been made about the type of restaurant that will open. (Columbus Business First)

The best “hole-in-the-wall” restaurant in Ohio can be found in German Village, according to Lovefood. The online publication ranked Brown Bag Deli — located at 898 Mohawk St. — as the best hole-in-the-wall restaurant in the Buckeye State, noting items like smoked turkey and cranberry mayo.
Eat
Le Macaron French Press is now open at 997 N. High St. in the Short North. The French-style bakery offers macarons, gelato, coffee, and croissants. It opens each day at 10 a.m. (614now)
Sports
Tickets for the Ohio State men’s basketball team will be cheaper starting next year as the university hopes to get more fans in the stands. The most expensive season ticket package will drop from $642 to $606 + specific individual tickets will decrease by $1 to $2 in total price. (Columbus Business First)
State
Cincinnati and Cleveland were confirmed as filming sites for the upcoming “Superman: Legacy” movie. No details were released about the filming plans. Fun fact: Cincinnati’s Union Terminal is the inspiration for the home of the Justice League, which includes Superman. (Cincinnati Business Courier)

Columbus nonprofit to be featured on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”

Is 9 a.m. too early for popcorn? We’re only asking because a CBUS nonprofit will be stealing the spotlight on a well-known morning show this week.
LC Johnson, founder + CEO of Zora’s House, will be featured on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” on Wednesday, February 28 at 9 a.m. Here’s what you need to know about the local nonprofit:
Zora’s House was created in 2018. It was formed by women of color as an inclusive community hub for both women of color + gender-expansive people of color. Since opening, it has served 3,000+ community members in its space on Summit Street and as a provider of resources.
Currently, the nonprofit is in its fundraising mode as it builds a new headquarters in Weinland Park. This new location will be five times the size of the original HQ, and you can learn more via our past coverage.
