If you think summer days are best spent on the water, we have some rentals you’ll want to get your hands on. From the Scioto Mile to the Olentangy River, there are plenty of local bodies of water to row, row, row your boat.
Pro tip: City Editor Hanna spent Memorial Day on a rental boat on Alum Creek, and the pontoon came with a tube for water action. The rental process was quick and easy, plus the views were serene.
Buckeye Lake is also a top destination for boating, with rates starting at $195 for a two-hour session for boats that can fit up to eight people.
Reminder: Make sure someone in your group has their Ohio Boating License so they can be the captain for the day.

After celebrating living in Columbus for 10 years, City Editor Hanna asked: How long have you lived in Columbus, and what has made you stay?
Here are some of the anonymous responses from our loyal readers:
“Born here, 65 years. It is home, fun to watch it grow from a cow town to what it is today, and the winters are milder!”
“I have lived in Columbus since 1980 with a brief hiatus to MD. In the 80s and 90s I used to say it was the biggest small town I’d ever lived in. Where else could I go pick up take out Chinese dinner and see the mayor!?”
“I’ve live here for about 5 years. Honestly, the people and endless opportunities made me stay. I met my best friend in Columbus! There’s always something to do and Ohio State is amazing!”
I’m venturing out with my microphone today to ask some trivia questions about Columbus. Do you have any interesting questions I should quiz some locals with? Let me know.
