☀️ School’s (almost) out for summer

Spring is around the corner, which means summer camps are soon to follow.

If you’re on the lookout for can’t-miss camps for the little ones, we’ve got you covered. Sign-ups are open now for the following programs:

Robot Academy

This one is for science and technology lovers — camps for LEGO Robotics, 3D printing, electronic music, and video game coding kick off in June.

Columbus Recreation and Parks

Kids ages 6-12 can enjoy a variety of summer camps centered on subjects like arts, sports, and outdoor recreation. Camps run from Monday, June 9-Friday, Aug. 1.

Columbus Children’s Theatre

Full-day camps teach kids everything from acting to scenic design to costuming. Bonus: Spring break camps are also available.

Franklin Park Conservatory

Camps at the Conservatory provide children with the chance to be active and outdoors while learning about nature, insects, and gardening.

Outdoors

A new outdoor market is taking CBUS by storm. The Scioto Arts Market will be a monthly Saturday morning event downtown (300 W. Broad St.) from May-October. Expect 100+ vendors and artisans, food trucks, live entertainment, and free entry to the National Veterans Memorial.

Festival

The Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival is returning to Gahanna’s Creekside District from Friday, June 13-Sunday, June 15. The festival will feature 30+ jazz and blues bands, food trucks, and artisan vendors. Tickets are on sale now.

Seasonal

The Easter Bunny will be at Polaris daily for photos from Friday, March 21 through Saturday, April 19. Plus, kids with sensory sensitivities can meet the Sensitive Bunny on Sunday, April 6 from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Weather

Don’t forget to spring forward this Sunday, March 9 — daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m., so turn your clocks forward one hour. This means the sun will start setting a little after 7:30 p.m. in CBUS next week, giving you more daylight hours to play around our city.
