The United Way of Central Ohio’s headquarters, located downtown at 360 S. 3rd St., will be transformed into apartments and commercial space with a $70 million project called AspireCOLUMBUS. The site has been purchased through a partnership between the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority and The Community Builders and seeks to fill a community need of affordable housing.

The 12-story building is expected to be complete by 2026, and will feature 10 stories of 135 apartment units, with over half of those units being deemed “affordable,” which means at minimum:

  • 25% of units are for households earning less than $20,000
  • 15% of units are for households earning less than $40,000
  • 15% of units will be for households earning less than $55,000

The first two floors will be used for 30,000 sqft of commercial space.
