Money comes and goes + bragging rights are forever, but for Chef Avishar Barua — he’s got both.

This Columbus-based chef took his talents to the big screen for a face-off with Food Network‘s Bobby Flay. And on Thursday, May 11, Avishar got his chance to flex his culinary muscle in the kitchen on an episode of “Beat Bobby Flay.”

That’s right. The local chef came, saw, and conquered. He carefully created a tempura fried porade with yellow curry. His dish blew away judges, including Sunny Hostin and Christian Petroni, both longtime fan favorites on Food Network.
