Thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center, we know what temperatures and precipitation trends to expect in our city for March, April, and May. While exact weather conditions typically can’t be predicted more than a week in advance, here’s a seasonal outlook to help you prepare for what spring will bring.

Here’s some good news — according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s Climate Prediction Center, we have a 33-40% chance of temperatures being higher than normal.

Keep your umbrella handy. Columbus has a 40-50% chance of seeing above normal rainfall amounts this spring.
🗓 By the month: March
March is when the weather starts to take a turn, with high temps averaging ~49° and lows of ~33°. Gear up for rainy season, with an average of 13 rainy days in the month. Bonus: The first day of spring is Thursday, March 20.
🗓 By the month: April
April showers bring May flowers. It’s probably safe to put those big puffers away now, but leave the rain boots out. Average high temps in April are ~61° with lows of ~43°. On average, rainfall is expected for more than half of the month.

Miss that Vitamin D? Spring is in full force as our average high temperature will likely move up to ~72° and our low should tag along at ~55°. Sunsets are securely stationed to nearly 9 p.m. at this point, with almost nine hours of sunshine per day.
