Peak season is approaching for the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, which means now is the perfect time to get familiar with everything the nationally ranked zoo has to offer.

Tours and experiences

Take a behind-the-scenes look at zoo animals in their habitats, ranging from capybaras to red pandas.

Here are few of the most popular experiences:

  • Cheetah Experience: Get up-close to the endangered species and learn about their care regimen.
  • Elephant Bath Experience: Help bathe the elephants alongside experienced keepers.
  • Stingray Feeding Experience: Touch the backs of sting rays and feed them their favorite treats.
  • Seal and Sea Lion Experience: Explore the sea lion facility, plus enjoy encounters with the playful creatures.

Get to know the animals

Before your first visit, know which animals to expect. The zoo features 10,000+ animals across 600+ species.

Keep it classic by visiting the giraffes, polar bears, and African lions, or visit the more unique creatures like zebra sharks, Tasmanian devils, and okapis.

Rides and attractions

Explore carnival-style rides (many of which will open soon for the season) like the Sea Dragon wooden coaster or the Swingin’ Gibbons swings. Zoo-goers can also hop on the North America Train to spot a wolverine, reindeer, or moose.

Other attractions include a 4-D theater and multiple kid-friendly play areas.

Become a member

If you plan on making multiple trips to the Zoo throughout the year, becoming a member may be the best option for you and the family.

Members receive free admission and parking for the year, and certain memberships offer free admission to Zoombezi Bay.
