Ohio State’s campus could soon host a block party every day if new plans from local developers are approved.

A&R Creative Group, owners of Midway and Ethyl & Tank, are proposing a 7,000-sqft event space to connect the two bars. Dubbed Block at 13th, the development will feature a second-floor rooftop concept, with the space on the first and second floor to be used to host events for student organizations and charities.

A&R Creative Group will will present plans to the University Impact District Review Board today for a conceptual review.

In the proposal, A&R explained why a designated event space will benefit the student community, saying “Many of these requests were from students and groups that promote community health, diversity, equity and equality.”
