Who said playgrounds are just for kids? Thanks to a partnership between Gravity developers and Land-Grant Brewing Co., adults will soon have a place of their own in Franklinton.

Project overview

The project — which will take over an empty lot on McDowell and W. State streets — will be called Gravity Experience Park and will be operated by Land-Grant.

Construction will begin soon, and events are expected to begin at the park in October.

Amenities

Gravity Experience Park will have the following amenities that allow for year-round enjoyment:

  • An ice skating rink in the winter that will convert to pickleball courts in the warmer months
  • A concert stage
  • Fire pits with seating areas
  • A bar
  • Public artwork

The long-term plan

“We envision this park being like a town square — a place that brings people from Franklinton and all over Columbus together in all these fun and amazing ways,” said Land-Grant president Adam Benner in a news release.

Adam and his team successfully curated the Land-Grant beer garden and Wintergarden over the years, and are excited “to use that experience on a blank slate to create one-of-a-kind experiences that we have not been able to do in the past.”
