Six former Buckeyes are headed to the Super Bowl, setting a collective record for OSU alums.

Five of those six players are on the Bengals, so to keep the Ohio pride strong, let’s break down the impact those five players had at OSU before starting their professional careers.

Eli Apple

Before becoming a Bengal, Eli played his entire college career as a cornerback for the Buckeyes, winning a national title in 2015 against the Oregon Ducks and earning Defensive MVP in the 2016 Fiesta Bowl victory.

Joe Burrow

Although Joe transferred to LSU where he won the Heisman + a national title, the quarterback graduated from OSU after three seasons. He settled the debate on if us Buckeyes are still allowed to claim him by saying in an interview last week, “I’m definitely still a Buckeye.”

Sam Hubbard

Sam had a successful 40-game career with the Buckeyes as a defensive end where he had 29.5 total tackles for loss and 116 tackles. He was also the 30th First-team Academic All-American in the OSU football program.

Vonn Bell

Vonn was also on the national championship team for the Buckeyes, and as a safety he had six tackles and a sack during that game. He earned First-team All-American and First-team All-Big Ten honors that same season before declaring for the draft.

Isaiah Prince

Playing right tackle for OSU, Isaiah was a team captain and played in every single game during his four years as a Buckeye. He earned First-team All-Big Ten honors and won consecutive Big Ten championships in 2017 and 2018.

And the sixth former Buckeye we mentioned? The Rams have Jordan Fuller — he’s on injured reserve — so no matter the outcome, we know that another Buckeye will earn a Super Bowl ring come Sunday.
