With August on the horizon, you’ve likely had your fair share of pool days + outdoor fun. But if you’re looking to beat the heat or make the most of a rainy day, we have four indoor activities to try.

📚 The Book Loft, 631 S. 3rd St.

  • Head to German Village and explore 32 rooms filled with thousands of different genres of books for middle school students through adults. We recommend touring the store online before heading in.
  • Pro tip: Stauf’s Coffee Roasters is right next door, so you can stop in with your new book and sip on a locally brewed latte.

🎨 Otherworld, 5819 Chantry Dr.

  • Immerse yourself in an interdimensional exhibit at Otherworld with 32,000 sqft of sci-fi-esque interactive art. Climb through secret passageways, explore 47 rooms, and take some pictures with the large-scale art that includes 54 projectors + 190,000 LEDs.
  • Pro tip: Otherworld is open Wednesday-Monday and reservations are required, so be sure to grab your tickets online.

🧗‍♂️ Play: CBUS, 535 Lakeview Plaza Blvd.

  • Want to do something on the adventurous side but the weather is too dicey? Play: CBUS is the perfect place to try your hand at some thrill seeking with a ropes course, climbing wall, Ninja Warrior-style obstacle course, and ziplining.
  • Pro tip: Wear closed toed shoes + bring some extra money for food — Play: CBUS also has a full-service restaurant.
