  • The Scioto Mile fountain could undergo $15 million in renovations. The plans include lights that can be programmed with music, shade stations, areas for food trucks, and separate areas for young kids. Plans for the fountain will go before Columbus City Council on Mon., Oct. 3. ⛲ (Columbus Business First)

  • Awadh India Restaurant, which currently has a location on Bethel Road, is opening a Powell location at 8736 Moreland St. The restaurant doesn’t have an official opening date, but menu items will include dishes like kebabs, kormas, and briyanis. 🍽️ (614now)

  • The annual closure of COSI ends today, as the museum officially reopens tomorrow, Sat., Oct. 1. After being close since Tues., Sept. 6, the museum has undergone maintenance, cleaning, and exhibit enhancements.

  • The Ohio State men’s basketball team held their first official practice on Wednesday. As a tradition, all the coaches kids came in with treats for the players after practice — and Isaac Likekele approved. 🏀
  • ICYMI, Ryan Day previewed tomorrow’s game against Rutgers on the Ryan Day Show yesterday. Members of OSU’s defense, including Ronnie Hickman and Joshua Proctor, also discussed the Big Ten matchup. 🏈

  • Now through Sun., Nov. 6, cheetah runs will take place at the Columbus Zoo at noon Monday-Friday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Visitors will have the chance to watch cheetahs reach their top speeds in the Heart of Africa region.

  • The 2022 Columbus Clippers season came to an end Wednesday night. City Editor Hanna caught up with some of the players on their favorite memories from the season — including when a squirrel was loose on the field. Watch the interviews.

Easton Place Homes groundbreaking

Yesterday afternoon, ground broke on Easton Place Homes. This development is a part of the $50 million affordable housing bond package from 2019 + will be located near Easton at the corner of Easton Loop W. and Charter Oak Way. Phase one of the project will include 50 units for families making between $22,000-$52,000 per year.

Mayor Andrew Ginther shared a short video of the groundbreaking to his Instagram saying, “We remain committed to making sure everyone who wants to work in central Ohio can afford to live in central Ohio.”
