We want to take a moment to thank every one of you who also follows our Instagram — yes, all 10,000+.
That’s right, Columbus — we’re calling for a quick celebration today after we surpassed the 10,000 follower mark on CBUStoday’s Instagram. We’re honored to be trusted by so many in the city + we hope our Instagram (and newsletter) serves as a small love letter to the city each day.
So, to round out the occasion, we are sharing some of our favorite posts since launching in late 2021 + early 2022.

As editors who are often flipping through Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, we love keeping up with all the latest memes and trends. That’s how City Editor Mitch found the dancing dogs which were added to our page in February 2023. Plus, we have a few more honorable mentions:
Remember when it didn’t snow in February, but did snow in March? Oh, Ohio...
We also love a good Saturday in Columbus, whether that’s finding a cozy and local breakfast, or cheering on the Buckeyes on gameday. Trust us, you can count on us for something to do in this city no matter what.
If you’re looking for exclusives, we’ve got those, too. Just check out City Editor Hanna chatting with Barstool Sports President Dave Portnoy when he visited Columbus. Plus, we have sideline interviews like this one with TikTok sensation Jimmy Sotos.
So, the next time someone says, “Columbus is just a small town in the midwest,” show them our page.

Buckeye Donuts to open inside the North Market Downtown

Buckeye Donuts will open a new location inside the North Market directly across the Fox’s Bagels stall. An exact opening date hasn’t been announced, but the two businesses plan to schedule a grand opening in the coming weeks.
This marks the start of a relationship between two businesses with decades of history in the city. While Buckeye Donuts is in its 54th year of business, the North Market has called Columbus home for 147 years. If this isn’t a local power couple, we don’t know what is.
This will be the third Buckeye Donuts location in Columbus, with one on campus at 1998 N. Hight St., and the other at 1363 S. High St. While Buckeye Donuts is famously, “open always, closed never,” this one will close with the North Market each day.
