For special games and events, the Clippers transform into the Veleros — meaning “sail boat” as a nod to Christopher Columbus’ voyage.
Copa de la Diversión began in 2017 with four teams in Charlotte, Durham, Visalia, and Las Vegas. The next year, it expanded to 33 teams and addeda little competition. The 2018 winner? The attendance-record-breaking Mariachis de Nuevo México in Albuquerque.
This year, 90 MiLB teams will compete to be crowned campeón based on ballpark experience, community engagement, and philanthropic impact.
Help the Veleros win by attending events and cheering them on. Each time they play, it will be Thirsty Thursday with specials on 32 oz beers, soft drinks, and Patrón margaritas. Plus, did we mention college students can get a discount on tickets on Thursdays? We did now.

That’s where Duke Energy comes in. Economic development, due to new or expanding businesses, supports the lives of Ohioans, and brings even more prosperity to the state.*

If you hear a loud buzzing sound coming from Lower.com Field next weekend, don’t be disturbed — it’s just 250 drones.
The Columbus Crew announced they will host the largest drone light up show in city history after their match against Orlando City SC on Saturday, May 13. A total of 250 drones will be flown for 10 minutes after the game, each with light displays that work together to create larger-than-life designs.
Not only will this be a spectacle to see (and record, send us videos), it also will raise awareness of the importance of children’s mental health in honor of the On Our Sleeves campaign, a local nonprofit.
