High Bank Distillery Co. to open third Columbus location

A year ago today, we shared the news on High Bank Distillery Co.'s Gahanna location, and now we’re back with details on its third location in the works.
📍The location
This new restaurant is planned for 28 South State St. in Uptown Westerville, the Columbus suburb where it’s said that Prohibition began. The carefully planned location will tap into the 1900s theme.
“We are renovating the old Post Office building into two entirely new spaces,” said Adam Hines, co-founder + master distiller for High Bank, in a press release. “Actual Prohibition, anti-saloon league propaganda was mailed out from this building, which is amazing to me.”

🍽️ The amenities
The $2.7 million restaurant is planned to open in spring 2024 and the 3,600-sqft space will feature:
A full-service restaurant and bar
Two patios
A retail store
A 2,000+ sqft underground speakeasy with its own cocktail menu and light bites

COTA received approval to buy nearly 10 acres of land to build the Rickenbacker Area Mobility Center. The center will be “the meeting point for COTA routes with transit coming from Pickaway and Fairfield counties” and should be complete in 2025. (Columbus Business First)
Drink
Land-Grant Brewing Co. will be offering a limited-time Splendid Strawberry Rhubarb Ale at Strawberry Jam on Saturday, May 26-Sunday, May 27. The beer will complement Jeni’s Strawberry Buttermilk ice cream at the festival.
Community
The Columbus Zoo is hosting Ohio State Day on Saturday, June 3 with discounted tickets, free parking, and a catered lunch. The day will also feature special OSU performances, and early access to the Heart of Africa, North America, and Polar Frontier regions. Registration is required.
Franklin Park Conservatory will unveil its Garden Safari with 30+ animal topiaries on Saturday, June 3. The exhibit will run through Sunday, Sept. 10 + you can catch a sneak peak here.
