  • The vibe: Upscale + elegant
  • The drink: The Purple Reign made with Ketel One, Norden Aquavit, Vermouth, blueberry, rosemary, lemon, and egg white
  • The dish: Short ribs in tobacco braise with a coffee rub + white cheddar grits and a Brussels sprout slaw

  • The vibe: Casual + fun
  • The drink: Lemon Shake Up made with Tito’s Vodka

  • Today is National Slider Day + White Castle, the Columbus-based fast food chain, is offering free cheese sliders to anyone who uses this coupon. Relive the college days and find a White Castle near you.

  • Rod’s Western Place, a Columbus-based retailer with outdoors-themed goods, is now open inside Polaris Fashion Place. The western store has been a staple in Columbus for 50+ years, and describes this new location as “an experiment.” (The Columbus Dispatch)
Development
  • Developers met with the Brewery District Commission to review updates to designs that would reimagine the old Jones Heel shoe factory into apartments. A groundbreaking could be held early 2024 as developers aim to have paperwork finalized this fall. (Columbus Business First)

  • The YWCA received a $400,000 grant from the Franklin County Commissioners to support their efforts in helping families experiencing homelessness. The YWCA will use these funds for its Family Center, which helped serve 500+ kids in 2021. (The Columbus Dispatch)

  • Warabeya North America, a food manufacturing company for 7-Eleven, is planning to open a plant next to the Rickenbacker International Airport. Records show the international company will invest $81.5 million into the 140,000-sqft manufacturing facility that will produce various to-go foods. (Columbus Business First)
