Columbus City Council will meet next spring to discuss expanding downtown’s DORA laws. If the new plans are approved, nearly all of downtown would become a DORA, meaning Columbusites could sip alcohol freely in the area. (The Columbus Dispatch)
Development
A mixed-use building on Monterey Drive in Dublin was proposed by local developers. In total, the plans include 40 townhomes + two mixed-use buildings with space for offices and businesses. An informal review will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7. (Columbus Business First)
Concert
The Postal Service + Death Cab for Cutie, two indie pop groups, are coming to the Schottenstein Center on April 30, 2024. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m.
Try This
Columbus Brewing Company is hosting a Winter Warmer Holiday Market on Sunday, Dec. 17 from 12 to 4 p.m. The market takes place at CBC’s Beer Hall + features local craft vendors, kid-friendly activities, and specialty drinks.
Closing
The Vanderelli Room is permanently closing on Sunday, Dec. 31. The Franklinton space has been popular for local galleries, performances, and activism since 2014. It’s unclear what will take over this space. (The Columbus Dispatch)

Eight art-focused groups will receive a financial boost after they were awarded grants by the Greater Columbus Arts Council. A total of $1.2 million was awarded across each group, with some like BalletMet + CAPA earning $175,000 each. (Columbus Business First)
Sports
Eight Buckeye football players were named to the All-Big Ten team, including wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and running back TreVeyon Henderson. Harrison was also named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Wide Receiver of the Year. (10TV)
