❄️ A local winter wonderland
What to expect at Land-Grant Brewing Co.'s Wintergarden

If you want to avoid getting cooped up in the cold months, take a visit to Land-Grant’s Wintergarden. We experienced the outdoor spectacle for ourselves, and we’re here to share the details.
Ice bumper cars
The newest edition to the winter fun — ice bumper cars — is located in the new Gravity Experience Park at 98 McDowell St., just steps behind the Land-Grant taproom.
Hop in a remote-controlled inflatable bumper car and get ready to ride and slide around the ice rink. Reservations are required in advance, and they are already sold out for December, so act fast.
Igloos
The heated igloos can seat eight people, and this year you can order drinks from the igloo and have them delivered. Prices are $20 for weekdays and $30 for weekends for two-hour increments.
Bonus: The igloos (and entire Wintergarden) are dog-friendly.

Brewery curling
Get competitive with a 90-minute curling match on the 1,300-sqft outdoor ice rink. The $70 cost includes a heated igloo and a match with two teams.
Not sure how it works? You’ll be sliding a mini-sized keg across the ice, aiming it at target scores.
Food and drinks
There’s a food truck on-site every night, including:
The brewery is of course known for its beer. Sit outside by the public fire pits and try seasonal options like Tree Lot (a Christmas ale), or opt for classics like Oh, Sure. Browse all the beers here.
Pro tip: Use this map to navigate parking and the Wintergarden activities.

We visited Columbus’ first and only DIYcraft bar, Makers Social. The Franklinton spot has 30+ projects to choose from and a full bourbon, cocktail, and mocktail menu.
✂️ The projects
Choose from a long list of available projects. No experience is necessary, and all of the guidance and supplies are provided. Projects range from $36-$60 and can be finished in as little as 30 minutes. Some of the many craft options include:
Make it for your body — necklaces, bracelets, and rings
Make it for your home — clocks, planters, coasters, and wreaths
Make it for your booze — leather koozies, bottle openers, wine glass tags, and tasting boards
🥃 The drinks
There are a variety of rare bourbons as well as project-themed cocktails like the Moscow Tool and Wasted Woodworker. Happy hour is Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
When I visited Makers Social, the owner told me she likes to take her daughter to Clifton Mill in Dayton this time of year. They have an entire holiday village, and it’s less than an hour from CBUS.
