Johnson’s Real Ice Cream, a family owned ice cream shop with four local locations, is opening its fifth store at 869 N. 4th St. this spring. The Italian Village shop will take over the former S’wich Social, which will not be reopening. (614now)

Local chefs Avishar Barua and BJ Lieberman were named as semifinalists of the prestigious James Beard Awards in the Great Lakes region. Liberman is co-owner of Hiraeth, Chapman’s Eat Market, and Ginger Rabbit Jazz Lounge. Barua owns Joya’s and Agni.

Noori Chicken, a Korean fried chicken chain, is opening its first Ohio location at 1454 N. High St. The diverse menu ranges from fried rice to corn dogs to boba milk teas. An exact opening date hasn’t been announced. (614now)

The Reds Caravan, which features Cincinnati Reds baseball players, staff, and mascots, will make a stop at the center court inside Polaris on Friday, Jan. 26 from 6-8 p.m. Fans can enjoy a Q+A and autograph session at this free-to-attend event.
