Peak season is approaching for the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, which means now is the perfect time to get familiar with everything the nationally ranked zoo has to offer.

Tours and experiences

Take a behind-the-scenes look at zoo animals in their habitats, ranging from capybaras to red pandas.

Here are few of the most popular experiences:
  • Cheetah Experience: Get up-close to the endangered species and learn about their care regimen.
  • Elephant Bath Experience: Help bathe the elephants alongside experienced keepers.
  • Stingray Feeding Experience: Touch the backs of sting rays and feed them their favorite treats.
  • Seal and Sea Lion Experience: Explore the sea lion facility, plus enjoy encounters with the playful creatures.

Get to know the animals

Before your first visit, know which animals to expect. The zoo features 10,000+ animals across 600+ species.

Keep it classic by visiting the giraffes, polar bears, and African lions, or visit the more unique creatures like zebra sharks, Tasmanian devils, and okapis.

Bonus: Save this park map to know which region each animal can be found in.

Rides and attractions

Explore carnival-style rides (many of which will open soon for the season) like the Sea Dragon wooden coaster or the Swingin’ Gibbons swings. Zoo-goers can also hop on the North America Train to spot a wolverine, reindeer, or moose.

Other attractions include a 4-D theater and multiple kid-friendly play areas.

We’re giving local businesses two green thumbs up. This Earth Day, we’re getting in the sustainable spirit by highlighting our environmentally-friendly brands.

Try syrups from Sweet’s Elderberry or a sparkling non-alcoholic beverage from Sarilla to give green drink a double meaning. Need a stronger boost? Purity Coffee has you covered.

Bring the Earth Day celebration inside with an organic coconut wax candle. Pro Tip: Use the vessel as a planter after it’s fully burned. Speaking of reuse – check out these Pirani Stackable Tumblers designed to make convenience less wasteful.

Strut your sustainable style with a retro beanie from Rainier Watch, plus 5% of your purchase goes towards National Parks protection. If you’re looking for more modern (but equally environmentally-friendly) styles, give Seaave a glance.

Feel fresh from head to toe with personal care products from Parrotfish or skincare by Salt & Ash Soap Co. Plus, She Biology’s relief balm, face creams, and drops are all organically made.

The Earth Day vibes don’t have to slow down here. See our full collection.
