Ohio State men’s basketball had a regular season of highs and lows, but they’ve earned a spot in the NCAA tournament. Here are two players to keep on your radar + tournament notes to keep in mind.
Despite season-ending injuries for Seth Towns and Justice Sueing — as well as other nagging injuries and COVID-19 cases that impacted the team — the Buckeyes showed promise by developing players who could take them far in tournament play.

Junior E.J. Liddell has been a bright spot all season long, and he’ll be one to watch in the postseason. E.J. was just named All-Big Ten first-team, and there are many reasons why. He led the conference in total blocks with 76, he scored in double figures in every single game this season, and he shot 37.5% in three pointers.
Following E.J.'s lead was freshman Malaki Branham. He is an alum of Lebron James’ high school, St. Vincent St. Mary’s, where he also won Mr. Ohio Basketball just like Lebron. Malaki was just named Big Ten Freshman of the Year for his 52% shooting percentage during conference games and his 35 points against Nebraska, which is the most points in a single game by a freshman in OSU program history.
