The Columbus Crew faced Inter Miami CF on Saturday in the first-ever MLS regular season match to be played at Huntington Bank Field, home of the Cleveland Browns.

The Crew and Inter Miami were the final two undefeated teams in regular season play heading into the the match. Not to mention Lionel Messi, one of the greatest soccer players in the world, is the star of Inter Miami.

Due to these factors and the hype around the match, it was anticipated that Columbus’ state-of-the-art Lower.com Field would not be able to hold all of the fans looking to attend.

While our hometown field can hold about 21,000 people, the final attendance in Cleveland was 60,614, a new home attendance record for the Crew. And yes, it was still considered a home match, despite its different location.

The Crew fell 1-0, but it was still one for the books.
