With the Columbus Crew back in the MLS Cup finals, we are taking a look at the last time the Ohio-based soccer team won a championship.

The road to becoming an MLS Champion runs through Columbus — but this isn’t anything new.

With the Columbus Crew back in the MLS Cup, we want to take a trip down memory lane to recall the last chip the soccer club won. It was 2020, just two years after the #SaveTheCrew effort.

The Crew entered the 2020 playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. This is where they dominated, only allowing one goal across four games of playoff soccer. Additionally, the offense was on fire, racking up multi-goal games in all but one of the matches.

The Crew faced the Seattle Sounders in the championship game. This Columbus powerhouse was too much for Seattle to handle, with captain Lucas Zelarayan netting two goals and one assist in the 3-0 victory.
