Editor Hanna here. For every football game this season, I shared my hot takes about about how games would play out. Now that the season’s over, let’s look back at my record.

Hanna’s biggest miss

Some of my hot takes were too hot. Against Michigan, I predicted a 25-point victory and holding Michigan to 10 points. As we know, that sadly didn’t pan out.

Hanna’s perfect prediction

A handful of my hot takes hit the mark perfectly. Before the first game, I gave three hot takes for the season that all became true.

First, I predicted the Buckeyes would have two 1,000-yard rushers with TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins. That was accomplished during the National Championship game, when they became the first running back duo at Ohio State to both rush for 1,000 yards in a season.

I also predicted that freshman Jeremiah Smith would break every single freshman receiving record — receptions, yards, and touchdowns. And just like that, Smith shattered all of those records for the Bucks.

Finally, I said Ohio State’s defense would be number one in points per game. The Buckeyes held onto that No. 1 in scoring defense spot all year long.

Fan feedback

For a handful of playoff games, I turned my hot takes over to the fans.

Against Tennessee, one Buckeye fan actually predicted the game score perfectly before kickoff. Pretty impressive.

At the Rose Bowl, Oregon fans were confident in their takes, but of course, the Buckeyes prevailed.

Signing off

We’ll end this magical OSU season with one more hot take: Hot Takes with Hanna will be back next season.
