Spring has sprung, and we have some some suggestions on what it takes to create the best spring-filled weekend.

💐 Fresh flowers

If you’re anything like City Editor Hanna, you love keeping fresh flowers around the house — especially in the springtime. Shop local bouquets at shops like Market Blooms (located inside the North Market Downtown) or April’s Flowers and Gifts.

Bonus: Fresh flowers and plants are also available at many local farmers markets, including The Dublin Market and the Clintonville Farmers Market, which will both open in the coming weeks.

🏃‍♀️ Get outdoors

Spring is Hanna’s favorite season to exercise outside since the weather is just right and the scenery is beautiful. She enjoys jogging the stairs outside of COSI along the Scioto Mile, the challenge course at Glacier Ridge, and renting a CoGo bike to hit the Olentangy Trail.

⚾ Catch a ball game

Springtime is the start of baseball season, and Hanna always recommends going out to the ballpark. Not only is the Clippers season packed with promotional fun for fans, but Ohio State baseball and softball games are also in full swing. The OSU baseball team has a handful of home games every single week until Saturday, May 20 when they finish with a battle against TTUN.

Bonus: You’ll find Hanna at most home Clippers games on the jumbotron with a microphone — and she’d love to say hi.

🍽️ Grab a bite

No matter the season, Hanna feels no weekend is complete without a great meal. She suggests trying a food hall, like Budd Dairy or Bubbly Hall (which just opened Thursday, April 13) because with a variety of options, there’s a meal for everyone.

Bonus: If the weather cooperates, there’s plenty of outside seating available at both spots.
