We moved to the wild side and tried the Heart of Africa Savanna Experience at the Columbus Zoo... and lived to tell you about it. If you want to make friends with giraffes and other savanna animals, here’s what to expect:

🦒 The animals

Get ready to ride through a safari and get up-close with animals like zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes. The truck will come to a complete stop + riders will have the chance to feed heads of lettuce to the gentle giants. Pro tip: Don’t dress to impress — the giraffes definitely drool.

🎟️ The basics

The 30-minute tours are $99 per person and happen daily at 5 p.m. Participants must be at least 10 years old.

🗺️ Getting there

The tour meets just inside the Heart of Africa region at the large map. Pro tip: Don’t be late — the safari explorers stick to a tight schedule.
