Don’t let your weekend plans drop with the temperatures. From frozen waterfalls to infrared saunas, City Editor Hanna has some tips on how to enjoy a winter weekend in the city.

Sip on a seasonal coffee ☕

Branch out from your favorite Starbucks drink and try a local coffee to start your winter weekend on the right note. Hanna suggests stopping at The Roosevelt Coffeehouse to try one of the seasonal drink options like the Cinnamon Roll Cappuccino or Winter Blossom.

Embrace the weather ❄️

There may not be fall leaves or summer sunshine, but metro parks across Columbus are still beautiful this time of year. Some of Hanna’s favorite trails to stroll in the colder months are Hayden Falls Park and Quarry Trails, which both have scenic waterfalls. When temperatures drop below freezing, the waterfalls freeze as well, creating a winter wonderland. Bonus: Quarry Trails also has a sledding hill.

Heat up 🔥

After braving the winter weather, Hanna likes to warm up by booking a private infrared sauna room at Paloma. With sauna options like relaxation, pain relief, or detox, sessions start at $35 for a 30-minute experience. If you’d rather bring your crew to the spa, book a private event or sign up for a sound bath class.

Wine down 🍷

The Refectory, which was No. 45 on Yelp’s list of 100 best restaurants of 2022, also has a wine shop. Put a cork in your winter weekend by browsing 200 selections of discounted wine at The Refectory Wine Shop. Plus, be sure to browse the wine features rotating monthly. Wine is Hanna’s pick, but if you’re more of a beer or cocktail lover, there are options for you as well.
