Construction season never ends in Columbus, but don’t worry, you don’t need a hard hat to get an inside look.

Whether it’s long-term builds making progress, or updates on the $20 billion semiconductor factory, these are the developments you need to know about this year:

🏥 Ohio State Wexner Medical Center Inpatient Hospital

The Walsh Group, a Chicago-based firm + joint construction manager, reports the project is 40% complete with crews working on the interior + main entrance.

🏭 Intel’s $20 billion semiconductor factory

Excavation crews are nearly finished prepping the site which will allow for construction to start this winter. Construction + engineering will be led by Bechtel, a Virginia-based engineering company.

🌇 The Merchant Building

Construction on this $345 million project from The North Market is expected to start early this year + finish in 2025. Once finished, it will add a 32-story building downtown with a hotel, restaurants and bars, businesses, and an event space.

🏦 Western Alliance Bank

This Phoenix-based bank announced expansion plans into Westerville which will bring a $2.2 million investment along with 150 jobs.

🌳 YMCA Hoover Park

This currently closed park will receive a $1 million renovation making it a prime event spot in the future + a new neighbor in the Great Southern Metro Park.

🌳 Great Southern Metro Park

Franklin County Metro Parks will also invest $1 million to create this new park on S. High Street near the YMCA Hoover Park, per The Columbus Dispatch.
