The NHL Playoffs are here — but sadly our Columbus Blue Jackets will be at home watching just like us.

It’s been awhile since our hometown hockey team made the playoffs — three years to be exact — so we wanted to relive some nostalgia of the historic playoff run in 2014. You might remember this as the year CBJ got its first playoff win in franchise history.

The Jackets faced the Pittsburgh Penguins in this series and had lost the first match-up. Game two was a thriller, and one for Columbus history.

The game started slow for the Jackets as they found themselves down 3-1 at one point. After rallying back behind two late goals, the two teams went into overtime. That’s where winger Matt Calvert was able to scoop up a rebound + sink the game winner to seal the W.
