Tranquility Salt Cave is a hidden gem that people have traveled across the country — and even across the world — to visit. Here’s why it’s worth a visit for you, too.

Cave quick-hitters

  • The cave, located at 30 Dillmont Dr., is made of 10,000 pounds of non-toxic Himalayan rock salt boulders imported from India and Pakistan.
  • Co-owner Leslie Dahn said she created the salt cave to help others feel relaxed, unplug, and be calm.
  • As you sit in the cave with relaxing music playing overhead, pure salt is diffused into the salt cave, which Dahn says removes toxins from the air you breathe.

Salt cave services

The salt cave has the following items on the service menu:
  • Halotherapy
  • Infrared sauna for an intense sweat

  • Weenie Wonder closed both its Easton and Dublin restaurants. CEO Troy Allen said they will focus on their other brands, 16-Bit Bar + Arcade and Pins Mechanical Co. The hot dog spots had been open for less than two years. (The Columbus Dispatch)

  • A downtown parking lot could get a new life as a 12-story apartment complex. The proposal for “The Dispatch Tower” at South 4th Street includes plans for 221 residential units with a clubhouse and pool, three “live-work” spaces, and a retail space. (The Columbus Dispatch)
Travel
  • Frontier Airlines will fly nonstop from CMH to Philadelphia beginning in May. Bonus: As construction continues on John Glenn International Airport’s terminal, a new information hub for the project has been launched. CMHNext.com features new renderings and enhancements for passenger experience.
Biz
  • Columbus Humane’s CEO Rachel D.K. Finney is stepping down from her position at 16 years. The rescue shelter credits her for significantly impacting the lives of countless animals over the years. A national search is underway to fill her position.
Community
  • The Short North Arts District released its updated Neighborhood Market and Consumer Study. The Short North is comprised of 850 businesses (84% of which are locally owned) and 11,200+ employees, according to findings. The neighborhood has had a total economic impact of $3.8 billion.
Sports
  • Multiple reports say the Columbus Blue Jackets may host a future NHL game outside in Ohio Stadium. Sources say the game will be played against the Red Wings on or around March 1, 2025. This would be the CBJ’s first outdoor game. (The Hockey News)

🧃 Grand opening

The grand opening is on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2. p.m. It’s free and open to the public to drop in as you please. Some mini classes will also be taking place throughout the open house, including:
  • Build (strength training): 10:30-10:50 a.m.
  • Renew (meditation): 11:30-11:50 a.m.
  • Sculpt (pilates): 12:30-12:50 p.m.
  • Recover (physical therapy): 1:30-1:50 p.m.
Small bites and cold-pressed cocktails from Nourish Juice Café will also be served.
