Construction is rolling along in Columbus, and this is your monthly coordination meeting. Many projects are about to get started, some are nearing completion, and a few may feel like they are never-ending. Here’s your April recap in five minutes or less.

Projects
ODOT extends deadline for I-70 + I-71 This project’s total cost has risen to $1.4 billion, and ODOT officials announced mid-month that it will now be completed in 2030, instead of 2027.

Construction resumes on Columbus Library’s Linden branch The Columbus Metropolitan Library held a ceremonial wall breaking to celebrate construction re-beginning on this Linden branch. It was previously put on hold two months ago.
Proposals
Apartments proposed near OSU This could bring a 17-unit building to the area, plus result in the demolition of select home along East Woodruff Avenue if approved.
Announcements
Another new branch for CML on the way The Columbus Library’s Barnett branch will close on Saturday, May 4 for a major overhaul. Once finished in 2025, it will be nearly double the size.
Bumble’s Backyard calls for community support This local venture wants to be one of the first-ever dog parks and bars in Columbus, and it started a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for construction.

DraftKings Sports & Social, a new bar concept from the online gambling app, is set to open at 840 N. High St. in the Short North on Thursday, May 9. The menu will feature bar classics like burgers and fries + plenty of TVs for sports betting. This is just the third overall location for DraftKings. (The Columbus Dispatch)

Saucy Brew Works will take over the day-to-day operations of Urban Meyer’s Pint House in Dublin. This means the bar will experience some changes, most noticeably will be the name change to Urban Meyer’s Pint House by Saucy Brew Works. (Columbus Business First)

We’re not 100% sure what this means, but we have a pretty good guess. A new pizza shop could be opening inside Pins locations in Columbus, replacing the now closed Weenie Wonder concept. Judging by this short clip, is that Mikey’s Late Night Slice?

Swap meets and flea markets
South High Drive-in Flea Market, 3050 S. High St. | Consider this your weekly re-up where vendors from across the city + state will flood to sell clothes and shoes. Sellers will also have a wide selection of basically anything — old furniture, children toys, and baseball cards.
