We attended Ohio State’s open practice in Mercedes-Benz stadium. Did you know they warm up to “Hang on Sloopy” on a continuous loop?
When it came to game day, the pregame action got even more exciting. It was a star-studded event with celebrities and athletes like Travis Scott and LeBron James in attendance.
Of course, Buckeye greats like Archie Griffin and Chase Young were there as well. We even got to chat with Cardale Jones (reminder: he was on the previous National Championship winning team 10 years ago).

Hot Takes with Hanna: Season scorecard
Let us know your feedback on Hanna’s predictions. | Photo by CBUStoday
Editor Hanna here. For every football game this season, I shared my hot takes about about how games would play out. Now that the season’s over, let’s look back at my record.
Hanna’s biggest miss
Some of my hot takes were too hot. Against Michigan, I predicted a 25-point victory and holding Michigan to 10 points. As we know, that sadly didn’t pan out.
Hanna’s perfect prediction
A handful of my hot takes hit the mark perfectly. Before the first game, I gave three hot takes for the season that all became true.
First, I predicted the Buckeyes would have two 1,000-yard rushers with TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins. That was accomplished during the National Championship game, when they became the first running back duo at Ohio State to both rush for 1,000 yards in a season.
I also predicted that freshman Jeremiah Smith would break every single freshman receiving record — receptions, yards, and touchdowns. And just like that, Smith shattered all of those records for the Bucks.
Finally, I said Ohio State’s defense would be number one in points per game. The Buckeyes held onto that No. 1 in scoring defense spot all year long.

What’s brewing, CBUS? If you’re anything like us, you can’t start your day without a cup (or three) of coffee. Here are 25+ coffee shops and roasters around the city.
Specialty drinks
Bottoms Up Coffee The Rainy Day might be the most creative drink in CBUS, as it features a cloud of cotton candy delicately floating above the local roaster’s house blend.
Parable This coffee shop puts care into each cup, with options like a sesame miso caramel latte or an espresso with tonic. Not only does it feature a hip and modern atmosphere, but its baked good offerings are next level. This has earned it recognition from national publications, like Bon Appétite.
Pistacia Vera Coffee is just the tip of the iceberg at this bakery that offers decadent treats and breakfast items. It’s known for a small, but mighty selection of specialty brews like the honey butter cold brew or the lavender latte. We recommend picking up a Key Lime Pie eclair on your next visit, or at the very least bring him one.
Single use face towels. Real talk: those washcloths you’ve used for years are likely harboring bacteria and roughing up your delicate moisture barrier. Go for a hygienic, gentler alternative with Sky Organics hypoallergenic face towels, made from 100% renewable plant fiber.
