Fashion trends come and go, and that’s why we recommend holding on to that concert t-shirt from 1983.
We’re only half kidding. If you look around Columbus, vintage threads are making a comeback. Whether that’s baggy pants or oversized graphic t-shirts, these trends pay homage to the iconic styles of the past decades. So, here are our recommendations for retro retail therapy.
Pop-ups
Not all vintage stores are the same + that’s why weekly and monthly pop-ups are worth keeping on your radar. Here are a few we can’t stop going back to:
- South High Drive-in Flea Market | Consider this your weekly re-up where vendors from across the city + state will flood to sell clothes and shoes.
- Friendship Flea | Stop by Taft’s Brewpourium every second Friday of the month for Franklinton Fridays to find 20+ local vendors.
- SoHud Collective | This traveling bus is open Wednesday-Sunday with vintage items and is a frequent visitor of Franklinton Fridays too.
- Pop-up Pickers Club | Check out their Instagram page to find the next location, which is usually in Westerville or Hilliard.
Brick-and-mortar
If you prefer a more in-store experience, check out these locally owned spots:
- Stash House , 1500 Polaris Pkwy. | This store is located on the upper level near Macy’s, and we love its selection of retro sports merch.
- Flower Child Vintage , 233 E. 5th Ave. | Pick up outfits ranging from the early 60s to the late 90s, plus vintage home decor and furniture.
- Smartypants Vintage , 815 N. High St. | Shop a curated selection of vintage clothes that are more geared towards women.
