Forget the artificial maple syrup in grocery stores — Dawes Arboretum says go straight to the tap.

That’s exactly what you can do on Saturday, Feb. 24 + Sunday, Feb. 25 during its Maple Syrup Tours. The 45-minute guided walks teach participants about the history and process of maple sugaring.

“It serves as a reminder to appreciate the great natural resources we have right in our own backyard,” Executive Director Luke Messinger said in a press release.

Visitors will start the walk by learning how maple trees are tapped for syrup making. At the end, each person will have the option to try the all-natural treat inside a cozy log cabin.

Walks will be 1-3 p.m. each day with a new tour beginning every 15 minutes on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are $5-$10.
