The Columbus Crew season is in full swing, but after this weekend, our hometown soccer squad won’t play in Lower.com Field until Sat., May 21 as they will be on a stretch of away games until then. That means this Saturday is your chance to catch the Crew in the new stadium so mark this down as an assist from us before you score tickets.
The pre-game 🏟
With Saturday’s match kicking off at 7:30 p.m., it’s recommended getting to the stadium at least an hour early if you plan on driving. The good news is parking + rideshare options are abundantly available near the stadium. Outside the stadium is where the tailgate happens so if you are looking for a parking lot party, this is your happy place.
There’s also Hofbräuhaus which offers a parking lot and it’s where plenty of fans meet up for giant mugs of beer before walking to the stadium. For an even shorter walk, check out Betty’s Bar or Nada’s.
The game ⚽️
The pre-match atmosphere is a little chaotic. People are rushing to find their seats, stopping by the merch stands, and picking up drinks at the build-your-own-cocktail bar. This is why we recommend waiting until the match gets underway before diving into all of the offerings (like Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace) and why we recommend getting your merch online before the game.
Talking tickets 🎟
You might come across the Nordecke section in the stadium and this is where the Crew’s most passionate fans sit. As leaders of the fan section, they bang drums, shout chants, and keep the energy high. These tickets are typically a little cheaper than regular tickets + it’s worth a reminder in case you plan on bringing the kids.
